AeroJudge Electronic Scoring System
AeroJudge is an electronic scoring system for IMAC aerobatic competitions that eliminates paper scoring sheets and manual data entry. The system has been proven at major events including the IMAC U.S. Nationals and has processed thousands of scores successfully.
Audio: Plug in your earbuds or headphones to the headphone jack on top of the device. Adjust volume using the control on top.
Optional: Attach the magnetic sun shade to reduce screen glare in bright conditions.
Step 1: Select Your Pilot Use the Next and Back buttons at the top to navigate through pilots. At larger contests, the device can be filtered to show only the class you are judging. When you see the pilot's name, simply press the "Judge" button.
Step 2: Choose the Sequence Select B or C sequence (left to right or right to left) and choose teh Known or Unknown round type.
Step 3: Judge Each Figure The device will display and announce each figure. Starting at 10 points, use the deduction buttons as needed:
For audio assistance, press the "Caller" button to hear the maneuver elements step-by-step. Press again to pause, then press again to continue.
Press "Next" (or "Back") to cycle between figures.
Step 4: Complete the Sequence After judging all figures, add scores for Sound and Airspace Control using whole numbers.
Step 5: Review and Save A summary screen shows all your scores. You can pinch-to-zoom to review clearly. If you need to change anything, go back and edit. When satisfied, press Save. Your scores are now locked in the device and will transfer to the scoring computer.
Not Observed (NO): If you lose sight of the aircraft during a maneuver and cannot properly judge it, press this button. The system will average the scores from the other judges.
Add Back: If you accidentally deduct too much, use the "+1" or "+0.5" buttons on the left side to add points back.
Zero: Press this for an automatic zero on a figure.
Break: Use this to mark a break penalty. For a "Break in sequence" you will also need to zero the next figure.
Once you press Save, your scores are secure in the device. Depending on the contest setup, scores will either upload automatically via Wi-Fi or the scorekeeper will manually sync all devices. You don't need to worry about the upload process during judging.
No scribe is required. The device stores your scores securely and eliminates thousands of manual keystrokes that would otherwise be needed for data entry. Most judges become comfortable with the system after just one round of use.
